Bought Google

Seeing the sharp drop in price at the close yesterday, I buy GOOG today at 12:55:03 hours at USD 518.2094. The price dropped because the earnings for the second quarter were lower than expected by analysts.

Evaluating Roche GS

The stochastic trend reamains positive. Hopefully, the price will remain above the current trendline from this point forward.

For the time being, I keep my limit sell order at CHF 235.00

SILC: what others say

I saw this chart on an Internet forum today, posted after the close on 11 July, with the following comment:

"SILC has closed at the top of the day, marking the downtrend resistance line. All it needs now is to break it up close up there. The volume is above average today. Good thing."

The analyst WR Hambrecht sees the price tarket at USD 25.00, based on 24x their 2008 EPS estimate of $1.05

SILC will announce earnings on Monday morning, 23 July. While it is generally considered risky to hold a stock through earnings, this may be an exception. For the time being, I place a limit sell order at USD 25.00

Evaluating SILC

I see a possible resistance for SILC at USD 23.79, the high on 5 July.

Bought Pfizer

My buy order for PFE gets executed at the open partially at 25.78, the rest at 25.79

Analysing Pfizer

Looking through all DJ30 stocks I see that PFE gave a buy signal on 2 July. I now place a limit buy order at 25.79, which was the opening price on 3 July.

Sell limit for Roche GS

I place a limit sell order for ROG at CHF 235.00

It is too early to draw a trendline to establish a stop limit, I think. On the whole, I expect a repeat of the short bull run in March.

02 July 2007

Bought SILC

My buy order for SILC gets executed at USD 20.11

Analysing UBS

Looking at UBS in the longer term I see on the one-year chart that the price bounced off the trendline on 27 June. On the Swiss market, it opened today below Friday's close and may want to test the resistance line once more before hopefully taking off for the long term. Stochastic looks favourable.
