I have placed a limit order to buy Novartis (NOVN) at CHF 92.65, which was yesterday's closing price.

GOOG: bought today

I bought Google (GOOG) today on the Nasdaq exchange at USD 612.6475, expecting that the price will bounce back quickly to USD 660.00

Waiting for OILB buy signal

The price of the ETFS Brent Oil (LON:OILB) is still on a downward trend. No buy signal yet.

My watchlist: adding ZURN

I am adding Zurich Insurance Group (VTX:ZURN) to my watchlist, as I my want to add to my position of this stock when I detect a clear upward trend. At the moment, the price is still falling.

OILB looks interesting

I did well with ETFS Brent Oil (LON:OILB) in the past and it looks the most interesting of the four items on my watchlist.

The price may go down some more from the current USD 30.10 with sanctions against Iran lifted and worldwide demand for oil possibly falling some more.

In view of he uncertainty about Greece's possible exit from the Euro zone I have given the order to sell my shares of iShares SMI (SIX:CSSMI) at market.

TSLA: bought today

I bought some more Tesla Motors Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) shares today, at USD 184.24, to double my holding of this stock. This has brought my average cost to USD 207.27

NESN: bought today

My buy order for Nestle (SIX:NESN) was executed today at CHF 67.55

iShares SMI (SIX:CSSMI) paid a dividend of CHF 0.92 per share. This corresponds to a yield of 1.08% based on my purchase price of CHF 85.09

Considering how badly oil has been faring recently, it is no surprise that the whole commodities sector, generally speaking, has been trending south. One thing I have learned in all my years observing financial markets is that when it comes to commodity pricing, too many investors never miss to miss an opportunity. Sure, the dollar has been on a tear lately and, save for a few commodities like coffee, the commodities market, precious metals and oils included, are rocking lower prices. This should be a golden opportunity for people to give gold another look.

I didn't like the price at which Alibaba Group (BABA) started trading, USD 92.70, and refrained form buying it.

The NYSE’s top executive would not specify what time the first Alibaba trade would occur, nor would he specify what the opening price would be. Instead, he stressed that the timing of the first trade is less imp0rtant than making sure the shares are priced correctly and that the shares trade “fairly” and “smoothly” once trading begins.
“It could be two hours, it could be three hours,” before trading begins. The NYSE opens for trading at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Looking at Alibaba

I have been looking at the Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) IPO over the past few days and wonder at what price it will start trading on NYSE today. Depending on how it goes, I may buy some shares. An IPO price of USD 66–68 has been mentioned in news articles. Pre-market trading is not available.
