I didn't like the price at which Alibaba Group (BABA) started trading, USD 92.70, and refrained form buying it.

NYSE on Alibaba IPO: 'We're ready to go'

The NYSE’s top executive would not specify what time the first Alibaba trade would occur, nor would he specify what the opening price would be. Instead, he stressed that the timing of the first trade is less imp0rtant than making sure the shares are priced correctly and that the shares trade “fairly” and “smoothly” once trading begins.
“It could be two hours, it could be three hours,” before trading begins. The NYSE opens for trading at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Looking at Alibaba

I have been looking at the Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) IPO over the past few days and wonder at what price it will start trading on NYSE today. Depending on how it goes, I may buy some shares. An IPO price of USD 66–68 has been mentioned in news articles. Pre-market trading is not available.

UBXN: first trading day

That was an interesting first trading day after the IPO for u-blox (UBXN). The stock opened at CHF 60.00, the price fell during the morning to a low of CHF 57.80, then rallied in the afternoon with low volume, and closed at CHF 61.00. During the last quarter-hour it traded slightly below the threndline on the 5-minute chart, but at a minuscule volume.

A little bird told me about the IPO of u-blox and I subscribe some shares.

The price range for the registered shares being offered will be between CHF 42 and CHF 54 per share. Bookbuilding will start today and is expected to end on October 25, 2007, 12.00 noon (CET). The first trading day on the main segment of the SWX Swiss Exchange is planned for October 26, 2007."
