The NYSE’s top executive would not specify what time the first Alibaba trade would occur, nor would he specify what the opening price would be. Instead, he stressed that the timing of the first trade is less imp0rtant than making sure the shares are priced correctly and that the shares trade “fairly” and “smoothly” once trading begins.
“It could be two hours, it could be three hours,” before trading begins. The NYSE opens for trading at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Looking at Alibaba
I have been looking at the Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) IPO over the past few days and wonder at what price it will start trading on NYSE today. Depending on how it goes, I may buy some shares. An IPO price of USD 66–68 has been mentioned in news articles. Pre-market trading is not available.
